CINE-CONCERT POETRY

Two years after its rereading of Ozu’s “Gosses de Tokyo” at the Galeries cinema, the ensemble 0 returns with an all-Brussels cast to perform this talking cine-concert.

In a small town in Gyeonggi province crossed by the Han River, Mija lives with her grandson, who is a high school student. She is an eccentric woman, full of curiosity, who likes to take care of her appearance and wears hats with floral motifs and brightly coloured outfits. By chance, he took poetry classes at the Maison de la culture in his neighbourhood and, for the first time in his life, wrote a poem.

“Poetry” (2011) is one of the great films by the famous Korean director Lee Changdong. It does not include a musical soundtrack and the ensemble 0 composed music specially to accompany the film’s progress, intruding into its nuances and suggestions, without betraying or accentuating its effects. Two years after its rereading of Ozu’s “Gosses de Tokyo” at the Galeries cinema, the ensemble 0 returns with an all-Brussels cast to perform this talking cine-concert.
